“Basement” Drops Jonathan Majors From Cast

Marvel

“Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star Jonathan Majors has been dropped from several projects – most notably the upcoming film adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel “The Man in My Basement”.

Deadline reported the news indicating he had also been dropped from an unannounced Otis Redding biopic and a series of ads for the Texas Rangers baseball team. Those follow in the wake of his longtime management reps and publicists reportedly severing ties with him.

Majors was arrested on March 25th after NYPD officers showed up at his home in response to a 911 call following a dispute he had with an unnamed 30-year-old woman.

The woman was taken to a hospital with what were described as “minor injuries to her head and neck”, and Majors was charged with assault, strangulation, and harassment.

He is expected to appear in court on May 8th to contest the charges and has maintained his innocence throughout the entire process. His legal team has claimed that they have additional evidence that could exonerate him.

In the wake of the arrest, speculation has been high that others would try to sever ties. Marvel Studios has built its Phase Five film slate around his Kang the Conqueror character, and Marvel Studios has yet to comment on Majors’ arrest.
