Ewan McGregor is set to star in the drama series “Lodi,” currently in development at Amazon Prime Video. The project is inspired by a true story from an Alta online article by Andrew Dubbins.
In 1977, a car salesman, Lou (McGregor), goes from an everyday small-town citizen to an FBI informant – infiltrating the mafia when a key member of organized crime offers to buy his Cadillac dealership.
Over the next three years, Lou finds his life tested when he becomes embroiled in the crime family’s inner workings. He’s soon fronting a multimillion-dollar operation and becoming a surrogate son – and ultimately procuring the first-ever conviction of an infamous crime boss.
Timothy Greenberg (“The Daily Show,” “Living with Yourself”) is attached as showrunner and executive producer whilst McGregor will executive produce alongside Allie Goss, Jon Liebman and Kaleb Tuttle for Entertainment One and Amazon Studios.
McGregor is currently in production on the Showtime & Paramount+ series adaptation of the Amor Towles novel “A Gentleman in Moscow” – again, he’s both starring and producing that one.
He recently reprised his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for the Disney+ limited series about that character. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy indicated that there are no plans for a second season earlier this month.
