Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic are set to reprise their roles of Vanessa and Colossus, respectively, in the upcoming third “Deadpool” film for Disney and Marvel Studios.
They join fellow first two film returnees Reynolds as Deadpool/Wade Wilson, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They’re joined by Hugh Jackman, reprising his Wolverine role, and recent cast additions Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
That brings back much of the main cast of the previous films, the obvious outlier being Brianna Hildebrand, who plays Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Her possible involvement in the new film is unclear at present.
The casting also follows comments from Baccarin last week, where she indicated in an interview they were still agreeing on terms for her return. It now looks like a deal has been worked out.
Shawn Levy is on board to direct the film, with Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese returning to pen the script along with Zeb Wells. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote the previous draft.
Levy, Reynolds and Kevin Feige produce the first “Deadpool” film at Marvel Studios. The project will be shot over much of the back of this year ahead of a release in November 2024.
