Outlander
Starz has announced a Friday, June 16th premiere date for the first part of the extended seventh season of time-travel historical romance drama “Outlander”. The new run is being split into two halves of eight episodes each with the second half airing next year.
The show has already been renewed for an eighth and final season in January whilst the prequel spin-off “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” has also been officially ordered to series. [Source: Starz]
Marvel
Two brief updates on some Marvel Studios Disney+ series. First up, “Loki” star Owen Wilson has indicated to ET Online that the second season of the series will be coming out “end of the summer or September.”
Meanwhile, Laurence Fishburne has confirmed to Brandon Pope that he’s reprising his Bill Foster/Giant-Man role from “Ant-Man and the Wasp” for the animated “What If?” second season at Marvel.
Grey’s Anatomy
ABC has renewed the hit medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” for a twentieth season. The network has also announced that executive producer Meg Marinis will take the reins as showrunner next season.
The renewal extends the show’s record as the longest-running primetime medical drama in TV history. The show still ranks as ABC’s top entertainment series in the key adults 18-49 demographic. [Source: TV Line]
Accused
Fox has renewed its new dramas “Accused” and “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” for second seasons to air in 2023-24. “Accused” was television’s highest-rated drama debut in two years back in January. The show averages 7.5 million multi-platform viewers per episode. [Source: Variety]
