Robert Pattinson and Robert Downey, Jr. are reportedly attached to “Don’t Look Up” and “The Big Short” filmmaker Adam McKay’s next feature.
Puck News broke the story, indicating the project is going by the name “Average Height, Average Build” and is dubbed a star-studded allegorical dramedy.
The story reportedly follows a serial killer (Pattinson) who gets into politics in an effort to change the laws to be more murder-friendly.
As per usual with McKay, the budget is high for this political dramedy and with the current streaming economics of the world, finding a home for the project is proving difficult – even with McKay’s “Don’t Look Up” being Netflix’s second most-watched movie of all time.
The site indicates the project is hitting the same issue as that of the expensive Nancy Meyers rom-com which still hasn’t found a home, namely industry content spending is likely to flatten and potentially even decline shortly.
Downey Jr. already made headlines earlier today as being linked to star in a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo”. Pattinson recently wrapped Bong Joon-ho’s “Mickey 17” and has “The Batman” sequel on the way with that project to begin filming in November.
