“The Crown” and “Foundation” actor Ben Daniels has scored a series regular role in the second season of “Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire” at AMC.
Adapting the second half of the novel but changing up the time period and location from the book’s late 1800s Paris.
The new run of eight episodes will see Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) arrive in Prague which is in the grip of World War II.
Like the book, the second season will shift a bit away from Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and towards Armand (Assad Zaman) – the five centuries old, daylight-walking character revealed in the first season finale.
In the new run, Daniels will play Santiago – the leading thespian of the Theatre des Vampires who grows increasingly suspicious of the American vampires Louis and Claudia.
Rolin Jones (“Perry Mason”) serves as creator, showrunner and writer of the series whilst Mark Johnson executive produces. Filming on the new run of episodes begins in April.
‘Interview’, which scored rave reviews at launch from critics, is the first in a wider Anne Rice Universe that AMC is building with the series “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches” having also wrapped its first season and having scored a renewal.
