Mortal Kombat 12
Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed in its quarterly earnings call yesterday that “Mortal Kombat 12” is coming this year on various platforms.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s president and CEO David Zaslav announced the game in a segment of the call discussing the company’s games business and says both it and Rocksteady’s “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” have ambitious launch projections. [Source: IGN]
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Following yesterday’s gameplay trailer reveal indicating that it will be a “live-service looter shooter”, Rocksteady Studios has announced that their upcoming “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” will require players to have an always online connection.
The game is designed to allow players to play the game in single-player, or up to four-player co-op online, and the internet connection requirement will apply to both modes. It also means should Warners end support for the game’s servers sometime in the future, all copies of the game could become unplayable. [Source: VGC]
Konami
Following on its big reveal the other month about multiple “Silent Hill” projects being in the works, a new report has rumored that Konami is slated to have a major E3 presence to show off the rumored “Metal Gear Solid 3” remake and a new Castlevania entry. The former is reportedly being considered a test bed for more potential MGS entry remakes. [Source: VGC Podcast]
Resident Evil 4
Following its premiere during yesterday’s State of Play event, Capcom has published a new “Resident Evil 4” remake trailer along with announcing the return of The Mercenaries game mode which will be available as free post-launch DLC.
The clip offers a good look at protagonist Leon Kennedy in various scenes in the game. The title will release on March 24th on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC via Steam.
