Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm has released both a new poster and a featurette for the third season of its “Star Wars” spin-off “The Mandalorian” which returns on March 1st.

Marking the second series this year with Pedro Pascal as a surly, surrogate daddy type, the poster for the new run sees his Din Djarin character standing atop his starfighter wielding the ignited darksaber. Grogu, whom came back to him during “The Book of Boba Fett,” sits in the cockpit nearby.

The new season sees Din Djarin attempting to reclaim his Mandalorian identity and features other returnees like Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan along with Omid Abtahi, Emily Swallow, and Amy Sedaris.

New to the series this season are Christopher Lloyd and Tim Meadows who have joined in undisclosed roles. The new run comes ahead of “Ahsoka,” “Skeleton Crew” and “The Acolyte” which are all on the way with two of those likely to his this year.

Season 3’s directors include returning filmmakers Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, and Bryce Dallas Howard, along with Lee Isaac Chung (“Minari”), Peter Ramsey (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”), and “Black Panther” cinematographer Rachel Morrison.

Jon Favreau is also set as the showrunner and one of its directors, and executive produces alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck.
