Gunn Debunks Wonder Woman & ‘3-Year’ Rumors

Warner Bros. Pictures

Filmmaker and co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn has debunked some more rumors today ahead of the planned reveal of his and Peter Safran’s multi-year plan for the future of DC later this month.

Responding to tweets, Gunn debunked one ongoing rumor suggesting Wonder Woman would not be featured at all in the first three years of the new DCU. Gunn says it was “simply not true” along with posting a gif that pretty summarily dunks water on the initial tweet.

Gunn was also asked about the recent Variety report indicating that Ezra Miller may continue to play the role of The Flash, and that the DCU’s future slate will only include a “three-year interconnected vision”.

Gunn didn’t really touch upon the Miller situation but did confirm that the DCU slate they are planning is actually “8 to 10 years”. In addition, he confirms they would be announcing “some of it” later this month.

The next DC Universe releases will be the “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” sequel which releases on March 17th followed by “The Flash” in June, “Blue Beetle” in August and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” in December.

After that comes the new projects whatever they are alongside the completely separate “Joker” and “The Batman” sequels which aren’t a part of the shared cinematic universe.

The only confirmed new DCU title at present is the young Superman film that Gunn himself is writing and will star someone other than Henry Cavill.
