Peacock has set an April 20th premiere date for “Mrs. Davis,” the upcoming drama series that is best summed up as a nun going into battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence known as Mrs. Davis.
“GLOW” breakout Betty Gilpin stars as the nun in the series which hails from executive producers Tara Hernandez and Damon Lindelof, with Hernandez serving as showrunner. Jake McDorman also stars as Gilpin’s rebellious ex, who also holds a personal vendetta against Mrs. Davis.
The project is dubbed an “exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions”. Co-stars include David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Andy McQueen, Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulo, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha and Mathilde Ollivier.
The first four episodes will release on April 20th, with the remaining four to drop weekly on Thursdays.
The announcement comes as NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell revealed this week that Peacock has more than 18 million paid subscribers as of today, a jump upwards of 3 million from the end of September.
The rise has been seen as being due to a mix of programs migrating from Hulu, sports and Universal films.
