Cast Set For “Prince Andrew: The Musical”

Channel 4

Impressionist Harry Enfield will play former Prime Minister Tony Blair opposite Kieran Hodgson as embattled British royal Prince Andrew in the upcoming musical TV special “Prince Andrew: The Musical” for the UK’s Channel 4.

The hour-long musical was written by Hodgson and will focus “on the key events, relationships and controversies of Andrew’s life, including a reimagining of the former-HRH’s bombshell interview with Emily Maitlis.”

The 2019 interview with NewsNight’s Maitlis touched upon Andrew’s his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in August that year. His comments were widely mocked and condemned and proved to be the catalyst in the disgraced Duke of York’s banishment from public life.

Cast members include Emma Sidi (“Starstruck”) as Maitlis, Munya Chawawa is Prince Charles, Jenny Bede is Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Baga Chipz is Margaret Thatcher and Joe Wilkinson is a newspaper vendor.

The special will air next month and features seven original musical numbers from a score by Hodgson and Freddie Tapner. Adam Reeve is producing.
