Peacock’s upcoming “The Continental,” the miniseries prequel to the “John Wick” franchise, has been set to stream on Amazon Prime worldwide outside the U.S., Middle East, and Israel.
The Lionsgate Television-produced three-episode series was originally slated to air on Starz but has since shifted to Peacock and is expected to debut in 2023.
Colin Woodell stars as a younger version of Ian McShane’s Winston Scott character whilst Ayomide Adegun plays a younger version of Lance Reddick’s Charon.
The story will follow Winston through the underworld of 1970’s New York, where he will battle demons from his past as he attempts to seize control of the iconic hotel – a hotel that serves as a meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.
Woodell and Adegun are joined by a supporting cast that includes Mel Gibson, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate and Peter Greene.
Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Albert Hughes, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger also executive produce.
Albert Hughes directs the first and third episodes and Charlotte Brandstrom directs the second.
