HBO has announced that the second season of its hit historical crime drama “Perry Mason” is set to return to the network in February. Matthew Rhys reprises the role in the 1930s Los Angeles-set series which follows the first season’s airing in mid-2020, but sadly Tatiana Maslany is not returning. USA Network and SYFY’s promotional push for the second season of its “Chucky” TV series has paid off. Launching on October 5th, the season premiere has reportedly pulled in a whopping 4.6 million views to date. The figures are good enough it’s expected a third season renewal could be announced soon [Source: Collider]
P-Valley
Starz has handed out a third-season renewal order for its critically praised drama “P-Valley” which hails from creator-showrunner Katori Hall. Season two reportedly averaged nearly 10.3 million viewers per episode when combining domestic linear, VOD and streaming – up 23% from its first season and the most watched U.S. series on Starz. Amazon has cancelled its coming-of-age comedy series about three twentysomething roommates on the autism spectrum after one season. Jason Katims created the series which explored a subject that was close to his heart as his son is autistic. Rick Glassman, Sue Ann Pien, Albert Rutecki, Sosie Bacon and Joe Mantegna starred. The Bequeathed
“Train to Busan” filmmaker and “Hellbound” creator Yeon Sang-ho has created and will write the suspense drama series “The Bequeathed” at Netflix. Kim Hyun-joo, Park Hee-soon, Park Byung-eun and Ryu Kyung-soo co-star.
The story follows Yun Seo-ha, a young woman who inherits family land upon the sudden death of her uncle and finds herself mired in mysterious events occurring in the town that tie to her family burial grounds and unravel deeply buried family troubles. [Source: Deadline]
