Coppola’s “Dracula” Getting A UK Re-Release

Francis Ford Coppola’s lavish 1992 film adaptation “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” is set to get a 30th-anniversary theatrical re-release in the UK timed with a 4K UHD disc release in the U.S. next month.

Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves, Richard E. Grant, Cary Elwes, Billy Campbell, Sadie Frost and Tom Waits co-starred in the $40 million budget film that became an international success with a $215 million worldwide gross and won three Oscars for its costumes, make-up and sound editing.

The film will score a 4K UHD SteelBook release on October 4th in the U.S. and then, just a few days later on October 7th, Park Circus has announced that it will be screening a 4K restoration of the film in over 150 UK cinemas including Vue, Odeon and Cineworld.

Park Circus will also re-release 4K restorations of three other classic horror films in the UK each week throughout October with “The Lost Boys” on October 14th, “Poltergeist” on October 21st and “The Thing” on October 28th.
