Poker Face
The Russell Crowe-directed thriller “Poker Face” will have its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival as part of the fest’s independently run Alice in the City section in mid-October. Liam Hemsworth, RZA and Elsa Pataky co-star in the film which Crowe co-wrote with Stephen M. Coates.
Crowe plays a tech billionaire who offers his best friends a chance to win more money than they’ve ever dreamed of. But to play, they’ll have to give up the one thing they spend their lives trying to keep – their secrets. The film hits U.S. cinemas November 16th. [Source: Variety]
The Bastard
Mads Mikkelsen, Amanda Collin, Simon Bennebjerg, Kristine Kujath Thorp and Gustav Lindh will lead the cast of Nikolaj Arcel’s epic historical drama “The Bastard” which has just begun filming.
The film unfolds in the mid-1700s when Danish King Frederik V declared that the wild heath of Jutland should be tamed and colonized so that civilization could spread – this deals with that conquest. [Source: Variety]
Infinity Pool
“Possessor” director Brandon Cronenberg’s new film “Infinity Pool” has reportedly received an NC-17 rating this week for “some graphic violence and sexual content”. The film’s distributor intends to appeal the rating.
Mia Goth, Alexander Skarsgard and Thomas Kretschmann star in the film in which a young rich couple is on vacation at an all-inclusive tropical resort. Outside of the hotel gates though waits something much more dangerous and seductive beyond the edge of paradise. [Source: Bloody Disgusting]
Black Adam
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new TV spot for “Black Adam,” one that shows off some of the film’s connection with the DCEU. The clip confirms Viola Davis will reprise her role of Amanda Waller in the film following her appearances in both “Suicide Squad” and “The Suicide Squad”. The film opens in cinemas on October 21st.
