Comedian Roseanne Barr will produce the one-off stand-up special “A Roseanne Comedy Special” for Fox News-backed SVOD service Fox Nation.
The project will mark her first stand-up special in 16 years and is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2023. It is said to be a “comedic take on a variety of topics, with no subject off limits”.
Barr’s last major project was a reboot of her landmark ABC sitcom in 2018. She left the program in 2018 after posting an offensive tweet about former Obama administration senior adviser Valerie Jarrett that drew accusations of racism.
The show was then transformed into the series “The Conners” with the Roseanne character killed offscreen.
