Rockstar Games Issues GTA6 Leak Statement

Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games has issued a public statement in response to this weekend’s massive leak of footage of a development build of “Grand Theft Auto VI”.

Over an hour of apparently legitimate footage hit the net on Sunday, and since then Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two has been rushing to take down videos of it on social media, YouTube and larger GTA community sites.

In a statement published on its social channels, the company says it is “extremely disappointed” that details of the game have been shared this way.

They add that at this time, they don’t anticipate any disruption to their live game services or any long-term effect on the development of projects with work on GTA6 to continue as planned.

The Vice City-set game, which began development sometime in 2014, is said to be at least two years away from release.

Developers from around the globe have offered statements of public support for Rockstar following the leak – including Xbox corporate vice president Sarah Bond.
