Following the reveal of Ti West’s “Pearl” at the Toronto Film Festival last night, along comes the news that there will be a third instalment in his recent franchise that began with “X” earlier this year.
While “Pearl” serves as a prequel to “X,” the new film “MaXXXIne” will serve as something of a sequel. Mia Goth will be back and reprising one of the two roles she played in “X”.
In the new one, Maxine (Goth) is the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame – setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.
The film hasn’t yet been shot but has been greenlit by A24, with West writing the script. “Pearl” opens nationwide Friday, September 16th.
