Ahead of a planned Pixar panel at D23 later this afternoon, word has leaked that a sequel to 2015’s critically well-regarded “Inside Out” is on the way – but it will be missing some key talent.

Puck News (via The Playlist) reports that actors Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling have reportedly declined to return for the sequel over pay. The report indicates leading lady Amy Poehler was offered $5 million for her voice services, whilst everyone else was offered $100,000 and no bonuses – so Hader (who voiced Fear) and Kaling (who voiced Disgust) won’t be back.

The outlet indicates that Disney is going cheaper on voice talent for animated films. This was allegedly seen with “Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers” with Puck saying talent fees for the recent Emmy-winning film were “laughably low”.

Pixar is in need of a hit following this year’s disappointing results for “Lightyear” along with several straight to Disney+ titles, with their last major box-office hit being “Toy Story 4” back in mid-2019.
