“Without Remorse” and “After Yang” star Jodie Turner-Smith is set to join Amandla Stenberg in the “Star Wars: The Acolyte” series for Lucasfilm and the Disney+ service.
Stenberg, who is playing the lead, remains the only cast member for the project confirmed by Lucasfilm to date. Details about any of the characters, including Turner-Smith’s, are under wraps.
Leslye Headland serves as showrunner of the mystery-thriller series, which will mark the first live-action screen incarnation of the High Republic era in “Star Wars,” a few centuries before the events of the Skywalker Saga with this expected to tackle the final days of that era.
The series is expected to begin production in London this Fall with Headland already indicating the show will take inspiration from classic wuxia films.
