Snowpiercer
Production on the fourth and final season of TNT’s post-apocalyptic ice age set series “Snowpiercer” in British Columbia has been briefly suspended following, ironically, multiple cases of heat exhaustion.
As many as fourteen people, including background actors and crew members, were reportedly transported via ambulance to local hospitals as actors were required to wear heavy clothing while temperatures soared. Production is expected to wrap up next week. [Source: TV Line]
Gladiators
The BBC is reportedly in talks with MGM Studios to bring back the iconic 1990s game-show “Gladiators” (based on the U.S. show “American Gladiators”). A set of new professionals has been selected, and filming will take place in Sheffield with the aim of launching next year. [Source: Deadline]
The Gordita Chronicles
HBO Max has cancelled its comedy series “Gordita Chronicles”, the decision said to be motivated by a change in strategy at its parent company which is eschewing live-action kids and family programming for the near future.
The series centered on a 12-year-old Dominican girl (Oliva Goncalves) in 1980s Miami. The single season-only show debuted on June 23rd. [Source: THR]
Betrayal
Oscar-winning screenwriters Bobby Moresco (“Crash”) and Nick Vallelonga (“Green Book”) will team with “Midnight Run” scribe George Gallo and John Gotti Jr. to develop the series “Betrayal”.
The show will examine the fall of John Gotti, the ‘Teflon Don’ and head of the Gambino crime family. This version will differ by focusing on his last years trying to run his empire from inside a maximum-security prison. [Source: Deadline]
