Peacock has renewed “Dr. Death” for a second season with the show switching to an anthology format and following a new case each season.
The second run will deal with Dr. Paolo Macchiarini, a charming surgeon renowned for his innovative operations and dubbed the ‘Miracle Man’. When investigative journalist Benita Alexander approaches him for a story, the line between personal and professional begins to blur.
As she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets, a group of doctors halfway across the world make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything about the ‘Miracle Man’ into question.
Creator Patrick Macmanus served as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the first season and will continue to serve as an executive producer on the second. Ashley Michel Hoban will take over as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the new run.
The first season starred Joshua Jackson, Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater and received good reviews with Jackson praised for his performance.
