Former SNL alum and “MacGruber” star Will Forte has been set to lead the darkly comedic thriller series “Bodkin” at Netflix.
Jez Scharf (“Mister Biscuits”) created the seven-episode series about a motley crew of podcasters who investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic, coastal Irish town.
Once they start pulling at threads, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined. Siobhan Cullen, Robyn Cara, David Wilmot and Chris Walley also star.
Scharf and Alex Metcalf (“The Loudest Voice”) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers while Nash Edgerton (“Mr. Inbetween”) will be the lead director.
The project marks the first scripted series effort to come from former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama whose Higher Ground production company has an overall deal at Netflix. Both will executive produce.
