Sweet Home
Netflix has renewed its 2020 Korean creature drama “Sweet Home” for a second and third season. Both new seasons will be produced this year back-to-back with Lee Eung-bok returning to direct. The new run will take on a larger scale with an expanded storyline and cast.
The story is set in a fantastical world where humans turn into savage monsters and wreak terror. One troubled teen and his apartment neighbors are forced to fight to survive and somehow hold on to their humanity. [Source: THR]
Power Rangers
Jenny Klein (“The Thing About Pam”) has signed an overall deal with eOne, a deal that will see her serve as showrunner on the upcoming “Power Rangers” series currently in development at Netflix. Klein will collaborate with Jonathan Entwistle on the series. [Source: Deadline]
Swagger
Apple TV has announced that its Isaiah Hill and O’Shea Jackson Jr.-led 2021 drama series “Swagger” has been renewed for a second season. Creator and showrunner Reggie Rock Bythewood also returns.
The series is inspired by the life of NBA star Kevin Durant and takes a look at the trials and tribulations that someone faces in the world of youth basketball with the ambitions of reaching the professional level. [Source: Collider]
Stranger Things
Netflix has released first-look photos from the final two episodes of the fourth season of “Stranger Things” which begin streaming on July 1st. The seven-episode first volume has become Netflix’s most popular season of an English-language television series ever with 781 million hours so far.
