Gina Rodriguez (“Annihilation,” “Jane the Virgin”) will star in and executive produce a TV series adaptation of the QCode mystery thriller podcast “Last Known Position” for Amazon.
The story charts the fallout of a brand new state-of-the-art American commercial jetliner vanishing on its maiden voyage over the Pacific. The ensuing air crash investigation discovers evidence of a creature of the deep that may have been responsible.
Rodriguez starred in the scripted pod and reprises her role here. It’s not clear if any of her fellow pod castmates like James Purefoy, Manny Jacinto, Olivia Cheng, Ashley Bell and JR Bourne will also make the jump to the TV series.
The podcast was created by Luke Passmore (“Archenemy”) who is attached to adapt and executive-produce the TV series. John Wynn will direct and executive produce.
