Having abruptly exited “Fast X,” filmmaker Justin Lin has now settled on his next project – a film adaptation of the popular Japanese property “One Punch Man” at Sony Pictures.
The title began life in 2009 as a webcomic and centers on a superhero named Saitama who has the power to defeat any foe with a single punch. Saitama quickly grows bored and seeks out a bigger challenge.
It has since been adapted as a critically acclaimed anime and video game. “Venom” and “Jumanji: The Next Level” scribes Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner will work with Lin on the script while Avi Arad and Ari Arad will produce. Filming aims to begin by the year’s end.
