Walt Disney Animation has premiered the first trailer for their sci-fi adventure feature “Strange World” with Jake Gyllenhaal announced as the voice of the lead character.
A throwback to the kind of early 20th-century pulp serials that spawned “Doc Savage” and “Flash Gordon,” Gyllenhaal stars as Searcher Clade – the son of a steadfast explorer.
The younger Clade is called on to travel deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await. It’s a crucial mission, one threatened to be toppled by familial differences.
“Raya and the Last Dragon” duo Don Hall and Qui Nguyen co-direct the film which arrives on November 23rd.
