Lionsgate has begun its marketing and promotion for its big-budget “The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes” early.
The studio has formally released the official logo art in a teaser first screened at ComicCon the other month. The clip comes nearly 18 months ahead of the film’s planned November 17th 2023 release with filming to get underway later this year.
The film is adapted from Suzanne Collins’ 2020 book which takes place decades before Katniss Everdeen’s adventures and deals with an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) – long before he becomes the tyrannical leader of Panem.
Snow is chosen to be mentor to Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), the unassuming but charming female tribute from the impoverished District 12, during the 10th Hunger Games. Francis Lawrence returns to direct the upcoming film from a script by Michael Lesslie (“Macbeth”).
