Following their recent cancellations of three DC series with “Legends of Tomorrow,” “Batwoman” and “Naomi” all getting the chop, The CW has released the first trailer for the new DC series it is investing in – “Gotham Knights”.
Not to be confused with the upcoming video game of the same name, the series follows Bruce Wayne’s adopted son Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan) who received the news from District Attorney Harvey Dent (Misha Collins) that Wayne has been murdered.
Hayes and three other teens, offspring of Gotham’s most deadly criminals, are the prime suspects. Together, along with Carrie Kelley (Navia Robinson), they must work to clear their names.
The series is standalone and so has no connection to the Arrow-verse series. It starts from a place in which everyone now knows the late Wayne was Batman, whilst Carrie Kelley sounds like the only incarnation of Robin in this world.
Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, Olivia Rose Keegan, Anna Lore, and Rahart Adams co-star in the series which premieres in 2023 and joins The CW’s two remaining DC shows – “Superman & Lois” and “Stargirl”.
