Lionsgate is reportedly starting over on its planned remake of Vincenzo Natali’s 1997 microbudget sci-fi/horror cult classic “Cube” according to Bloody Disgusting.
The studio is reportedly scrapping never-realized plans it outlined in 2015 and accepting new pitches for the rebooted take on “Cube.” Roy Lee and Jon Spaihts were originally linked to produce.
The original followed five strangers trapped in a series of seemingly endless trap-rigged cubes. It was enough of a success to spawn a sequel and a prequel and more recently a Japanese remake released last year.
