The trailer has just been released for filmmaker Brett Morgen’s David Bowie documentary “Moonage Daydream” ahead of its evening premiere tonight at the Cannes Film Festival.
Officially sanctioned by Bowie’s estate, the project boasts never-before-seen footage, performances, and music, and is piloted by Bowie’s own narration.
Thousands of hours of rare performance footage of the musician and more than 500 assets from Bowie’s archive were sorted through, along with unfiltered access to Bowie’s personal libraries, including all master recordings, to assemble this documentary.
Neon will release the film in partnership with Universal Pictures Content Group, HBO Documentary Films and IMAX with plans to premiere the film in cinemas this Fall aheaf of an HBO and HBO Max premiere in Spring 2023.
