“Bourne Identity” and “Edge of Tomorrow” director Doug Liman is attached to helm a limited series adaptation of a chapter within Ronen Bergman’s acclaimed nonfiction book “Rise And Kill First”.
The story unfolds against the background of Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser hiring a team of former Nazi scientists to build a missile program that could destroy Israel.
A young Mossad age initiates a campaign of espionage, kidnappings, extortions and assassinations that slows down but does not eliminate the threat.
In desperation, they turn to the unthinkable – seeking the help of Hitler’s go-to-man for covert missions, the dashing SS commando leader Otto Skorzeny, and asks the man to eviscerate Nasser’s program from the inside.
Story Syndicate (“I’ll Be Gone in the Dark,” “Britney vs. Spears”) will produce alongside Liman and David Bartis. Dan Cogan, Liz Garbus and Abot Hameiri will oversee the project.
