Lionsgate and Roku have closed a deal that will see the studio’s feature films get an exclusive streaming run on the free AVOD Roku Channel platform after they play on Starz.
The multi-year output arrangement covers theatrical releases starting this year – the first window will be exclusive post-Starz release, the second will be non-exclusive.
This will include fourth entries in the “John Wick” and “The Expendables” franchises along with the “Borderlands” movie and the just-released “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”.
The Roku Channel includes more than 275 live, linear channels and 80,000-plus on-demand film and episodic offerings. At the end of 2021, it was reaching households with 80 million people.
