The fourth season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” arrives soon and carries with it not only outsized expectations but an outsized budget as well.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the new run of the popular supernatural series boasts an extraordinary budget of $30 million per episode.

To give you a comparison, every episode of the final season of “Game of Thrones” clocked in at $15 million, the same with the first season of “The Mandalorian”.

The most expensive shows to date have been the Disney+ MCU series “WandaVision,” “Loki,” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” at around $25 million per episode.

The story goes into Netflix, recently hit by dropping subscription numbers, will likely seek more inexpensive hits such as “Squid Game” and “Virgin River” which have been major success stories for the streamer despite economic budgets of $3 million per episode.
