A new report at The Wrap indicates that several of Netflix’s high-profile animated projects have been scrapped, including the highly anticipated series adaptation of Jeff Smith’s beloved comic series “Bone”.

The project was to hail from the streamer’s original animation department which is also reportedly retooling its adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “The Twits” from a series into a film.

The “Bone” fantasy comics followed three cousins from the Bone family who are small, white and bald humanlike creatures with big noses. The trio are run out of their hometown and finds themselves in a mysterious valley where they are separated and hunted by other creatures. The series ran from 1991-2004.

An adaptation of the property has been in the works at one place or another for well over a decade, but the project has never been able to get off the ground.
