Amazon and Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions company have both boarded the film adaptation of “It Takes Two,” last year’s winner of the top award of ‘Best Game’ at The Game Awards.

The story follows the adventures of Cody and May, a couple on the verge of divorce transformed by magic into living dolls. Trapped in a fantastical world, they must overcome their fractured relationship and a variety of challenges in order to return to normal and their daughter blames herself for their fractured relationship.

The game, which received some of the best critical reviews of any title last year and has sold more than five million copies, must be played as a co-op game with a friend either in person or online.

Original developer Hazelight Studios and dj2 Entertainment are behind the project which is being penned by “Sonic the Hedgehog” film scribes Pat Casey and Josh Miller while Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Dmitri M. Johnson and Dan Jevons will produce.
