Salma Hayek will replace Thandiwe Newton in the upcoming “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” for Warner Bros. Pictures which recently began production in London.
In a statement from a Warners spokesperson, it has been revealed Newton made the difficult decision to step away from the production to deal with family matters.
The film marks the third and last feature to see Channing Tatum return as male stripper Mike Lane following the 2012 first film and the 2015 sequel “Magic Mike XXL”. The franchise also spawned a lucrative stage show.
Steven Soderbergh, who wrote and directed the first film but only penned the second, is back to both write and direct this third entry. For now, the plan is to premiere “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” exclusively on HBO Max.
