Lily Rabe, Ed Harris, Vanessa Hudgens, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer and August Blanco Rosenstein will lead the cast of the film adaptation of Chuck Klosterman’s “Downtown Owl” for Sony Pictures.
Unfolding in rural North Dakota in 1983, the story deals with a new female high school English teacher whose presence upends the lives of locals just in time for a white-out blizzard for the ages.
The action follows three different characters whose lives are tied together during the blizzard – the aforementioned teacher, an older gentleman who hangs at the coffee shop, and a brooding and solemn backup high school quarterback.
“American Horror Story” alum Rabe and “Midnight Mass” star Hamish Linklater will co-direct the film from a script by Linklater. T Bone Burnett has also signed on to do the score.
