Amazon’s free AVOD streaming service IMDb TV is undergoing a rebranding and will be called Amazon Freevee beginning April 27th.
The rebranding has been in the works for a while with the AVOD service Freevee to sit alongside (but separate to) Amazon’s SVOD service Prime.
In the last two years, IMDb TV has tripled monthly active users thanks to increased distribution and venturing into producing its own originals including Judge Judy’s new home of “Judy Justice,” the “Leverage: Redemption” revival, and the “Alex Rider” series.
An international expansion is expected to continue along with an increase in programming, the biggest new play being the spin-off series “Bosch: Legacy” which will premiere on the service on May 6th.
Other new shows include Clea DuVall’s “High School,” Australian crime drama “Troppo” and home-design series “Hollywood Houselift”.
