Hanks Apple Set A Greyhound Sequel

Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman have set a multi-year exclusive overall deal with the Apple TV+ service. The pact will cover series, documentaries and unscripted projects for Apple to develop, produce and distribute globally.

In addition, Apple Original Films and Playtone have begun to move forward on a sequel to the Hanks-led WWII submarine chase action-thriller feature “Greyhound” which became one of the service’s most-watched works.

Hanks and Steven Spielberg are also producing the WWII series “Masters of the Air,” the follow-up to HBO’s “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific,” for Apple TV+ with that series having just wrapped filming. That follows American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep.

Apple TV+ is finding itself in an enviable position of late following acclaim for their film and TV works of late including Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA” along with series like “Severance,” “Pachinko,” “The After Party” and “Slow Horses”.
