Talbot Sets His Three Governesses At A24

“The Last Black Man in San Francisco” filmmaker Joe Talbot has set his second feature “The Governesses” at A24 and BBC Film and has set three major rising actresses for the lead roles.

“Voyagers” actress Lily-Rose Depp, “Squid Game” breakout HoYeon Jung, and “The Worst Person in the World” star Renate Reinsve will all lead the film which will be based on Anne Serre’s novel.

The story follows three rebellious governesses who upend the household that they work in – inspiriting the minds of the boys in their care, igniting the imaginations of the bohemian couple who employ them and abandoning their charges for erotic adventures.

Talbot teamed with poet and novelist Olivia Gatwood to adapt the screenplay with Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Rob Richert and Angus Lamont producing. Production is taking place in Spain.
