Ben Mendelsohn will play Christian Dior and Juliette Binoche is Coco Chanel in the new scripted drama series “The New Look” for the Apple TV+ service and produced by Apple Studios.
Given a straight-to-series order, the inspired by true events project will be written, directed and executive produced by “Damages” and “Bloodline” alum Todd A. Kessler.
The ‘epic thriller’ centers on the pivotal moment in the mid-20th century when Paris led the world back to life through its fashion icons.
The interwoven saga will include the stories of Dior and his contemporaries and rivals including Chanel, Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and more.
Mark A. Baker will produce the series which is seen as a potential anthology that could feature a new fashion-set story each season.
