More than 69,000 players of EA’s “Battlefield 2042” have signed a petition asking for their money back.
The petition at Change.org requests that refunds available on Steam be extended to PlayStation and Xbox customers. The petition says:
“EA’s release of Battlefield 2042 was a mockery of every customer who purchased this video game for $70 due to EA’s false advertising. Battlefield 2042 has cost consumers millions of dollars in damages and upset thousands of customers worldwide.”
The petition also cites that once it passes 50,000 signatures, which it already has, then “one of the best class-action lawsuit lawyers in the country is willing to take our case against EA”.
The latest entry in the franchise launched late last year to heavy criticism over server and UI problems, a perceived lack of features, instability issues and a slow update rollout.
The publisher has admitted that the game “did not meet expectations” and developer DICE has recently delayed a number of updates to the title including its first season pass.
