Kristen Wiig is set to star in the comedy series “Mrs. American Pie” which has received a ten-episode straight-to-series order at Apple TV+ and Apple Studios.
Laura Dern is also eyeing a central role in the series which she’s executive producing. The story is based on the novel of the same name by Juliet McDaniel and unfolds in the early 1970s.
Wiig plays Maxine Simmons who attempts to secure her seat at America’s most exclusive table: Palm Beach high society.
Abe Sylvia created the series and executive produces alongside Dern and Jayme Lemons. Sylvia will serve as showrunner with Tate Taylor set to direct and executive produce.
