Paramount+ has announced that the fourth season of “Star Trek: Discovery” is set to take a break.
The season’s seventh episode will air on December 30th, then it will take a few weeks off and return with its second half on February 10th with six episodes to run through to March 17th.
The delay is expected to impact the international rollout on Amazon Prime as well. In the gap in-between, the kids-oriented “Star Trek: Prodigy” will return with its five remaining first season episodes to air from January 6th through February 3rd.
The second season of “Star Trek: Picard” was to launch after the ‘Discovery’ finale’s original end date in mid-February. Now it’ll likely shift to a late March kickoff. That season has ten episodes.
It’s expected the new Captain Pike-led “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” series will premiere after the new season of ‘Picard’ closes, in which case it would potentially debut around the first week of June.
