The Wheel of Time
Amazon Prime Video’s high fantasy series “The Wheel of Time” reportedly clocked 1.16 billion viewing minutes during its debut week according to Nielsen. That would make it the streamer’s most-watched original series since “Hunters” last year. The series also attracted a slightly older audience profile, with 65% of its watchers in the 35-64 age range. Empire of Light
Colin Firth, Toby Jones, Crystal Clarke and Tanya Moodie have signed on to star with Olivia Colman and Micheal Ward in “1917” and “Skyfall” director Sam Mendes’ new drama “Empire of Light” at Searchlight Pictures.

The love story is set in and around a beautiful old cinema on the South Coast of England in the 1980s. Mendes penned the script and will produce alongside Pippa Harris. Roger Deakins will serve as director of photography and the film is scheduled for release next Fall. [Source: Deadline]

Stars at Noon
Actress Margaret Qualley has indicated that production has wrapped on the new Claire Denis film “Stars at Noon” which co-stars Taron Egerton. Filming began earlier this Fall with the movie potentially ready for a Fall film festival release.

Denis (“High Life,” “Beau Travail”) also has the Juliette Binoche-led “Fire” done and effectively completed so we may see both films from her next year. [Source: Instagram]

HBO Max’s critically acclaimed comedy series “Search Party” comes to an end with the fifth season which premiered its new trailer below. All ten episodes will debut on the streamer on January 7th.

In the new season, Dory (Alia Shawkat) enters a very public business partnership with charismatic tech billionaire Tunnel Quinn (Jeff Goldblum) on the other side of her near-death experience.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2
In a fun bit of marketing timed with the release of “The Matrix Resurrections,” Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new TV spot for the “Sonic the Hedgehog” sequel that pays homage to the early marketing of ‘Resurrections’. “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” premieres in theaters on April 8th.
