Actor Idris Elba has confirmed on social media today that that filming has officially begun on the movie continuation of the British crime drama series “Luther”.

Elba has played the role for over a decade, the film following in the wake of twenty episodes of the series across five seasons – the last one airing back in 2018.

Andy Serkis and Cynthia Erivo will co-star in the film as the villain and a rival detective respectively. Jamie Payne, who helmed the fifth season, will direct.

As one production begins, another ends with word that “And Just Like That…,” the ten-episode “Sex and the City” revival for HBO Max, has wrapped filming.

Actor Chris Noth confirmed the wrap in an Instagram post with Parker adding in her Instagram stories earlier this week she took her ‘final walk’ as Carrie and was “feeling sentimental” about closing the chapter on a character she’s been playing since 1998.

The “Luther” movie is expected late next year, “And Just Like That” will begin airing on HBO Max in December.
