Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, Finn Wolfhard and Helena Zengel have all joined Isaiah Saxon’s debut feature fantasy epic “The Legend of Ochi” at A24 and Saxon’s animation studio Encyclopedia Pictura.
The story follows a young girl (Zengel) who runs away from home and learns to communicate with an elusive animal species known as Ochi. The project is said to be a “throwback to old-school pre-Lord of Rings Peter Jackson films”
Dirty Projectors founder Dave Longstreth will compose the original score. Jonathan Wang, Traci Carlson and Richard Peete will produce and the Russo Brothers will executive produce.
