Filmmaker James Gunn has tweeted a photo of himself alongside the main cast of Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” as filming on the last of his ‘Guardians’ films finally gets underway.
First announced over four years ago with a script finished over three years ago, Gunn says in the post it has been a “strange and long and at times challenging” journey to get to this point. Finally though, it’s happening with Gunn having previously promised a proper conclusion.
Regulars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Pom Klementieff can be seen in the shot alongside Will Poulter (who’ll play Adam Warlock) and Chukwudi Iwuji in a key undisclosed role.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will open in cinemas on May 5th 2023.
It’s been a strange & long & at times challenging journey to get here, but the obstacles along the way have only made this moment more blissful. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting #gotgvol3 pic.twitter.com/DrF8ZV8bvz
