Netflix has premiered the trailer for Oscar winner Halle Berry’s directorial debut “Bruised,” a mixed martial arts action drama which she also stars in.
Michelle Rosenfarb penned the film in which Berry plays Jackie Justice, a disgraced MMA fighter who has failed at the one thing she’s ever been good at – fighting. She’s now down on her luck and simmering with rage and regret years after her last fight.
When six-year-old Manny, the son she walked out on years ago, returns to her doorstep, Jackie has to conquer her own demons, face one of the fiercest rising stars of the MMA world, and ultimately fight to become the mother this kid deserves.
Adan Canto co-stars as her manager and boyfriend, Shamier Anderson plays a fight league promoter, while Adriane Lenox, Sheila Atim, Valentina Shevchenko, and Stephen McKinley Henderson also star.
Basil Iwanyk and Linda Gottlieb produce the film which hits select cinemas early November and arrives on Netflix itself on November 24th.
